Behind the Scenes: Building MÜR Atelier From Scratch

Handmade necklace featuring green heishi beads, bright orange accent beads, and a gold ammonite shell pendant displayed on a white background.

Launching a handmade jewelry brand has been one of the most exciting — and unexpected — journeys of my life. Right now, I’m in the middle of creating, polishing, writing, photographing, editing, organizing, and learning everything that comes with starting something from the ground up. And I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what this process truly feels like.

It’s messy, magical, overwhelming, and beautiful all at once.

Creating Each Piece by Hand

My days start with beads, tools, and design ideas spread out across my table. I’m currently working on new pieces — bold blues, soft pastels, pearls, coastal tones, and unique textures that capture the spirit of MÜR Atelier. Every necklace is crafted one bead at a time, making sure each combination feels intentional, balanced, and full of personality.

As a woman-owned, SAHM-run studio, every moment of creativity is precious. This brand is built in real time, between responsibilities, quiet hours, and bursts of inspiration that hit out of nowhere.

Building the Website Step by Step

I’m also in the middle of shaping the MÜR Atelier website — choosing photos, naming collections, writing descriptions, creating policies, and making sure everything looks clean, inviting, and true to the brand.

From figuring out the perfect product names…
to designing the layout…
to setting up the contact page, FAQs, About page, and everything in between…

It’s all coming together piece by piece.

Choosing Meaningful Names + Stories

One of my favorite parts of this process is naming the pieces. I’ve been exploring names inspired by mythology, the ocean, feminine energy, and the meanings behind gemstones. Each name is chosen to reflect both the beauty of the materials and the personality of the woman who will wear it.

Learning as I Go

I’m learning so much right now — from SEO and metadata to shipping settings and photography tricks. Every setting, every menu option, every edit teaches me something new.

It’s challenging, but in the best way.

Why I’m Sharing This

Because MÜR Atelier isn’t just a shop.
It’s a journey — one that’s still being built day by day.

If you’re reading this, thank you for being here while it grows. Your support, your curiosity, and your presence mean more than you know.

Stay tuned.
More pieces, more stories, and more behind-the-scenes moments are coming soon.
